Itinerary
The tour departs from Seyðisfjörður harbour and follows the fjord outward, leaving the colorful town behind as the mountains, waterfalls, and quiet inlets come into view. As the ship moves through sheltered waters, seabirds often fly close to it, and the guide shares stories of everyday life along the fjord. Of how people once farmed along the shoreline, travelled by boat, and depended on the sea as both a workplace and a lifeline from the Viking settlement period to the 21st century.
Near the mouth of the fjord, the coastline opens toward the high sea cliffs of Skálanes. Birdlife is abundant there, puffins, eiders, gannet and artic terns. Seals are frequently seen resting on shoreline rocks, and the changing light and sea conditions shape each visit. Weather permitting, the route may round the outer headland where the fjord meets the Atlantic, before returning along the coast toward Seyðisfjörður.
A shared, unhurried experience suited to families, friends, and small groups looking to spend time together in a striking landscape.
